Your Destination —
Nimes itself is a treasure trove of wonderfully preserved Roman ruins left over from its days as one of the most important cities of Roman Gaul. A trip to Nimes would not be complete without a visit to Masion Carree, a 2000-year-old temple & one of the best preserved Roman temple facades within the former Roman Empire.
Set out to discover Châteauneuf du Pape, Les Baux, Gordes, stroll around the market in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, visit the Pont du Gard, visit the small village of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, and many other great excursions, before unwinding at the Auberge de Cassagne.
In the winter months, Avignon is home to some fantastic Opera and Ballet performances (dates vary).
