Provence Excursion: Hilltop Villages and Markets
Discover the picturesque villages of this charming region! During the tour you will visit a traditional market in Gordes, Bonnieux or Isle sur la Sorgue (depending on the day) and meet different local artisans still practicing time-honored crafts.
From this hilltop vantage point, you'll get a stunning panoramic view of the region. Your minibus will then stop at the famous Cistercian Senanque abbey, located amid vast lavender fields, before heading to Rousillon. Perched on a ochre cliff, its buildings are different shades of yellow, orange and red, giving the impression of paints mixed on a painter's palette. Fall under the charm of the picturesque scenery! The tour will end with a visit to the typical villages of Bonnieux and Lourmarin, where you can take a moment to contemplate the views across the surrounding vineyards and olive trees. At the end of your day, you will be driven back to Aix en Provence.
Discovery Day around the Lavender Fields and the Gorges du Verdon
This tour will take you to the heart of the Provence region where you can soak up the scents and the atmosphere of the region. See wild lavender fields stretching as far as the eye can see, and visit the town of Sault, also known as the 'Lavender Capital'.
In the afternoon, you'll head to the hilltop villages of Monnieux, Saint Saturnin-les-Apt and Saignon. Perched high in the valley, their exceptional locations provide stunning panoramic views of the Provencal backcountry! Located at the entrance to the port, not far from Fort Saint-Jean, you'll have the pleasure of admiring this sublime showcase dedicated to the civilisations of the Mediterranean, which opened its doors in June 2013. Take advantage of the opportunity to admire the museum's many treasures, which will soon hold no secrets for you, as well as the breathtaking panorama outside.
When you stay in Marseille, you can enjoy admission to the Mucem every day except Tuesday.
