Discover the oldest originally Croatian city on the Adriatic coast, first mentioned in 1066. 
Due to its unique position in the safest natural harbour in the Adriatic, on the Krka River estuary, the town developed into one of the most important renaissance centres.

The city is known for its medieval town with high stone houses, winding cobbled streets, numerous staircases, archways, churches, monasteries as well as St. Jacob cathedral, which is part of UNESCO's list of world cultural heritage.

Šibenik is surrounded with three fortresses, while the Fortress of St. Nicholas, the most important renaissance fortification on the Eastern Adriatic coast, stands in the St. Anthony Channel, which connects Šibenik harbour with the open sea.   

Besides rich history, Šibenik is becoming a more popular destination due to a growing tourist industry and its close vicinity to Primošten and Vodice, some of the most attractive tourist destinations in Croatia. Two national parks, reachable in 30 minutes by boat or car, add to the attractiveness of this charming Croatian city.

If vaccinations or other preventive measures are required, you will need to visit your health professional at least 8 weeks before your trip. You should contact your insurance/medical assistance company promptly if you are referred to a medical facility for treatment.

Brexit
