Culturally Havana is a melting pot of influences from Europe, Africa and the Americas. Its unique ambience and resilient character have lured writers, artists and even the occasional revolutionary. With a wealth of exciting attractions, there is so much to do and see.
Discover Cienfuegos, the only Cuban city founded by French immigrants in 1819. See the historic centre, declared a World Heritage Site in 2005 (by UNESCO) - a fine example of neoclassical town planning in Cuba during the 19th century which has earned the city the nickname 'the Pearl of the South'.
Roam the colourful streets of Trinidad, a Spanish colonial settlement once built on huge sugar fortunes and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This meticulously well-preserved Spanish colonial city, with its rich architecture, cobblestone streets, palaces and plazas, is sometimes referred to as the "museum city of Cuba."
Trinidad is a well-preserved Spanish colonial settlements, boasting colonial-style mansions bedecked with Italian frescoes and French chandeliers.
Founded by Spanish conquistador Diego Velazquez de Cuellar in 1514, Santiago was the capital of the Spanish colony of Cuba from 1522 until 1589. Today, Santiago is one of the most important urban areas outside of Havana, and is home to most forms of Cuba’s long-lasting and globally renowned music.
The region is also home to many other well known things for visitors to enjoy; there are the ruins of French coffee plantations to the east of the city in the mountains that are recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site. Also. the famed Cuban cigar has deep-rooted tradition in Santiago, as does the production of Rum. Both a Cigar factory, and Rum Distillery can be found in Santiago.
One of Jamaica's most popular destinations, Montego Bay is known for its adventurous, stunning surroundings and diverse nightlife. Watersports, coral reefs, waterfalls and rainforest adventures - all can be found here on this Caribbean paradise.
Sunny Florida skies, year-round warmth and sunshine, a buzzing nightlife and a mix of cultures define this cosmopolitan city. Celebrity-drenched South Beach attracts people-watchers and the Art Deco District is the largest collection of Art Deco architecture in the world.
Enjoy authentic Cuban cuisine and culture along Calle Ocho or travel back in time with a visit to the historic Venetian Pool. There is something for everyone in this city dubbed the "Gateway to the America's."
Your Itinerary —
Itinerary 1 (Departing on 12th January & 23rd February)
Day 1: Fly to Havana where you will board your ship for your overnight stay in port.
Day 2: Today you will be treated to a walking tour through the old town or drive to San Francisco de Paula to visit Finca Villa Vigia and stop at Hemingway's bar en route. There is also an optional Cuba Classic Car Experience. You will be setting sail at 6pm.
Day 3: At Sea.
Day 4: Arrive in Cienfuegos at 8am & depart at 6pm. Spend the morning visiting the arboretum then drive to Parque Marti square and visit Terry Theatre and see Purissima Concepcion cathedral and walk to the local vegetable market. The afternoon will be at leisure.
Day 5: Arrive in Casilda at 8am & drive to Trinidad where you can walk from Plaza Mayor with its famous sugar mansions and visit city museum. There is an optional tour to Hacienda Manaca Iznaga.
Day 6: At Sea.
Day 7: Arrive at Santiago de Cuba at 8am & drive to El Morro Fortress for a sightseeing tour & discover the cemetery of Santa Ifigenia, the Moncada Barracks & Revolution Square. Depart at 7pm.
Day 8: Disembark the Aegean Odyssey in Jamaica where you will be transferred to the airport in time for your overnight flight home.
Day 9: Arrive in the UK.
Itinerary 2 (Departing on 18th January & 1st March)
Day 1: Arrive in Miami where you will be transported to your hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 2: Fly to Montego Bay, Jamaica where you will board your ship & set sail at 6pm.
Day 3: Arrive at Santiago de Cuba at 8am & drive to El Morro Fortress for a sightseeing tour & discover the cemetery of Santa Ifigenia, the Moncada Barracks & Revolution Square. Depart at 7pm.
Day 4: At Sea.
