Cilgerran Castle
A riverside walk to neighbouring Cilgerran & Cilgerran Castle is accessible from the hotel grounds.
Welsh Wildlife Centre
Also near to Cilgerran village is the Welsh wildlife centre in the Teifi nature reserve. An architectural award winning building, the centre serves great locally sourced organic lunches.
Cardigan
Cardigan town is 3 miles away, with a selection of independent shops, cafes & delis, & the spectacular Medieval Cardigan Castle.
Newcastle Emlyn
An independent market town with impressive ruined castle. On the way is the village of Cenarth with the famous Cenarth falls. You can also take a detour to watch cheese making at Caws Cenarth.
Aberaeron
Charming harbourside town to the North with lovely town walks & great stop off for food & drink in the Harbourmaster.
St. Davids & Newgale
Over the Preseli mountains to the South lie Fishguard, St. Davids & the large beaches of Newgale & Whitesands. St. Davids is the world’s smallest city with impressive cathedral & a range of independent shops & cafes. Newgale beach is 2 ½ miles long & is home to Newsurf surf centre & Big Blue kitesurfing.

All menus are created by head chef Cornel Uys, modern British fine dining dinner menus have a touch of theatre, a playful attitude & a fresh way of looking at old favourites.
Drawing upon the abundance of outstanding local produce, Cornel Uys creates seasonal menus that use the very best of what is on the doorstep, along with the finest ingredients from throughout the Wales & the UK.
The Library Bar
The Library Bar is the heart of the house. Roaring log fires, mulled wine, hot toddys & puddings in winter. Cool & light space to flop down & chill in summer. The library bar overlooks the front lawn & has tables with great views for all day dining. From your first morning latte to the last Mojito, the library bar is open all day for drinks, bar food, nibbles, coffees, afternoon tea, cocktails or just to sit and be. Staff are always on hand to prepare you exclusive Wado coffees, mix you anything from the well thought out cocktail menu, bring you food, help you choose the perfect glass of organic red or to simply let you enjoy the space.
Your Journey —
From London/Cardiff/M4
London to Hammet House takes about 4 hours. We recommend you drive via Narberth, as other routes are ‘scenic’ & windy!
Drive to the end of the M4, then take the A48 towards Carmarthen.
At Carmarthen follow the A40 towards St Clears.
Stay on the A40 until the Penblewin roundabout, take 3rd exit on the A478 signposted Cardigan.
Stay on the A478 through Clunderwen, Llandisillio, Efailwen, Crymych & Blaenffos.
After Blaenffos turn Right on the B4332 towards Boncath.
Take next Right on the B4332 through Boncath.
After Boncath, turn Left signposted Llechryd.
Stay on this road for 5 minutes, then you will see the Hammet House driveway & gateposts on your Left.
Straight down the drive, bear left at the cottages & Hammet House reveals itself.
