Hanoi
Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and the country's second largest city. It lies on the bank of the Red River, and is bursting with culture, including numerous museums, temples, parks, and many more. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a large memorial at the centre of Ba Dinh Square, for a fascinating insight into Vietnam's political history.
Ha Long Bay
Ha Long Bay, or "descending dragon bay", is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The bay is famous for its scenic ocean karst topography and is often included in lists of natural wonders of the world.
Da Nang
Da Nang is a popular spot for those looking to explore the central attractions of central Vietnam, or soak up some sun on the city's beaches. For those who want to seek some culture, visit the Cham Museum, brimming with ancient sandstone statues. Pair this with a visit to My Son (see below).
Hoi An
Hoi An is a city on the coast of the East Sea in the south central region of Vietnam. Visit its ancient town, where its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences, both indigenous and foreign, that have combined to produce this unique heritage site.
Your Itinerary —
Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat international airport in Ho Chi Minh City, welcomed by guide and transferred to your hotel in the city center to check in (Hotel check-in time: 14:00. Hotel early check in is not included). You will be free for the remainder of the day. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City – 1/2 day city tour (B)
After breakfast, enjoy a half day tour of vibrant Ho Chi Minh City. Visit the Reunification Hall, formerly known as the Presidential Palace it was this modern building that North Vietnamese tanks seized on the morning of April 30 1975, as Saigon fell. This fascinating building is filled with history still fresh in the minds of many. Continue to the War Museum, Old Post Office, the Notre Dame Cathedral and Ben Thanh Market. Return to your hotel after the visits and be free at leisure! Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City - Ben Tre in Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City (B/L)
Depart from your hotel at 08:00, it takes only 2 hours pleasant drive to Ben Tre province crossing Rach Mieu bridge. On arrival in Hung Vuong Pier, hop on a motorized boat on Ben Tre River – one of tributaries of Mekong river while sight-seeing lively activities along river as fishing, water transferring. Our first stop is at brick kiln to see how to make bricks traditionally by printing and baking. Continue to visit one of plenty of coconut processing workshops located along canal. Return to the boat and go through natural scissors creeks to a village and see some local houses making sleeping mats and enjoying some fruits.
Take a motorized cart (tuk tuk) or bicycle on shady paths, pass by green rice fields and vegetable plains to be able to touch on real life and find out about tropical culture from peasants. Have lunch at local a riverside restaurant.
After lunch, we take a rowing-boat along beautiful water palm creek before meeting up the motorized boat and transfer you back to the pier. Return to hotel after a memorable day merging in Mekong Delta local living. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 4: Ho Chi Minh City – Siem Reap (B)
After breakfast, you will be free until being transferred to the airport for a flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Upon arrival, you're greeted by our guide and transferred to your hotel for check in. Be free to stroll around and have first impression of Siem Reap. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 5: Siem Reap - Angkor Complex (B)
We start a very special and busy day as you will explore some of Angkor’s most beautiful temples. You will visit the West Gate of Angkor Thom – undiscovered by mass tourist. The ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century). See the South Gate, Bayon Temple- unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara Baphuon Temple: lying just to the north of Bayon, a pyramidal representation of mythical Mont Meru, The Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, The Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.
In the afternoon, you will visit the famous temple: Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology. We continue to visit the fabulous Ta Prohm embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers. Ta Prohm was built in the 12th century. It’s a Buddhist temple dedicated to the mother of King Jayavarman VII. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 6: Siem Reap - Angkor Complex - Luang Prabang (B)
After breakfast, you continue exploring Angkor complex with:
Banteay Srei: nearly everyone's favorite site. The special charm of this temple lies in its compact size, remarkable state of preservation, and the excellence of its decorative carving
Banteay Samre: Its rose-colored sandstone walls are decorated with carvings and bas-reliefs, which are among the most accomplished Angkor has to offer.
Afternoon, drive to the airport for a flight to Luang Prabang. Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. Landing in Luang Prabang, you will be met by our guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
After breakfast, we visit the National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign, and the Central Market are not to be missed. Continue our city tour with the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai.
In the afternoon, we also enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city's oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represent the classical architecture of Luang Prabang temple, we then climb up to the top of Phousi Mount for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, we explore Street Night Bazaar, where you can find the lovely collection and handmade textile by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 8: Luang Prabang - Alms-giving & Pak Ou Cave - Hanoi (B)
For early risers, there is a very special dawn visit to watch the monks collecting the alms. As the sun begins to rise, long lines of orange-robed monks leave their pagodas and walk barefoot down the streets collecting offerings from Luang Prabang residents. It is a beautiful, serene ceremony that highlights the spiritualism of the Laos people. Return to your hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, we board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a beautiful view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes.
Boat trip back to the town and be free for lunch at your own. Then you will drive to the airport for a flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival in Hanoi, you're greeted by our guide and drive to your hotel. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 9: Hanoi - Full day city tour (B)
After breakfast, the day starts with visit to the complex dedicated to Ho Chi Minh- the nation’s founder, containing Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (viewed from outside on Mondays, Fridays and afternoons due to closure), and the house on stilts, One Pillar Pagoda. Next up visit Tran Quoc Pagoda - Hanoi’s oldest pagoda on the bank of West Lake. Lunch at your own expense.
In the afternoon, visit Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university which was constructed in 11th century. Later on we take a cyclo tour around the Old Streets which were named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. Stop at Hoan Kiem Lake to learn about legend of the lake and visit Ngoc Son Temple, followed by the Water Puppet show - a uniquely Northern Vietnamese art form depicting scenes from rural life and episodes of national history. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 10: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you will depart by road to Ha Long Bay, a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. Travel through the rich farmlands of the Delta of Red river and the landscape of rice fields, water buffalo, the daily life of the Vietnamese village. Arrive in Halong and board to board a traditional junk. Lunch on board. The cruise passes by many rocks and islets in many funny shapes. The cruise may stop for a while for visiting the Surprising Cave. Later on the junk move to docking area for ovenight. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 11: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi - Danang (Brunch)
In the morning, your brunch will be served while doing further cruise to explore the beauties of the Bay before returning to the Wharf. The junk continues cruising toward Ha Long port. Ready for disembarking. Our car is ready to pick you up back to Hanoi. You will drive straight to the airport for a flight to Danang. Upon arrival, you will be met by our driver (NO GUIDE) and check in your resort. Overnight in Danang.
Day 12 to day 13: Danang Free (B)
Four free days in Danang on the white sand beach of Furama!
Day 14: Danang - Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City - Departure (B/Driver drop-off only/No guide)
After breakfast, you will be free until being until being transferred to the airport for a domestic flight back to Hanoi or to Ho Chi Minh City in a good time to connect to your departure flight.
