Your Itinerary

The tour starts and finishes in New Delhi and comprises 10 nights and 11 days of exploring the Indian Golden Triangle & Nepal

Day 1 - Arrival In Delhi
This morning you will arrive at Delhi’s International Airport. Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, a SITA representative will meet you as you exit the arrival terminal building and transfer you to your hotel. Where you will proceed for check-in
India’s capital and a major gateway to the country, Delhi is a bustling metropolis, which successfully combines in its folds - the ancient with the modern.

Amidst the fast spiralling skyscrapers the remnants of a bygone time in the form of its many monuments stand as silent reminders to the region’s ancient legacy. The first impressions for any visitor traveling in from the airport are of a specious, garden city, tree-lined with a number of beautiful parks.

Today spend your day relaxing at the hotel.

You will spend 2 nights in New Delhi at The Suryaa Hotel on Bed and Breakfast in a Deluxe Room
Day 2 - Delhi
Proceed for a full day combined city tour of Old and New Delhi. (The Guide will meet you at the hotel at approximately 0900 hrs. unless you request otherwise). In Old Delhi you will visit the 17th century Jama Masjid and walk through the narrow, winding lanes of colourful and bustling Chandni Chowk. You have the option of taking a rickshaw ride through these bazaars.

Also visit the Mughal Empire’s most opulent fort, the Red Fort for a photo stop. Visit Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated.  Afternoon proceed to New Delhi. Drive past The Presidential Palace, the one-time imperial residence of the British viceroys, the India Gate, a memorial raised in honor of the Indian soldiers martyred during the Afghan war and a drive along the Rajpath past the Parliament House and secretarial buildings. Visit Qutab Minar, the 12th century tower of victory built by a slave king and prototype of all minars (towers) in India. Also visit the 16th century Humayun’s tomb, a precursor to the Taj Mahal.

Day 3 - Delhi to Jaipur
After breakfast you will drive to Jaipur. On arrival at Jaipur, proceed to check in at your hotel. You will be met by a SITA representative. Rest of the day is at leisure.

In the evening you will be taken for a typically Rajasthani meal with a local family.

You will spend 2 nights in Jaipur at Fortune Select Metropolitan on Bed and Breakfast in a Standard Room.

Travelling Distance approx. 260 km – Driving Time approx. 06 hours
Day 4 - Jaipur
Following buffet breakfast you will proceed to visit the capital of Amber to see the fabulous Amber Fort. Maharaja Mansingh, Mughal Emperor Akbar’s most successful General, started the construction of Amber Fort in the 17th century. Before the City Palace was constructed in Jaipur, Amber was the seat of power. The fort is surrounded by fortified battlements and overlooks the Moat Lake. Ruins and remains are spread over the Aravali hills and sprawling crenulated walls lattice the surrounding area.

An elephant or alternatively a jeep will spare you the trouble of reaching up to the fortress. Once on top, stroll through the sprawling complex of courtyards and halls. Many of the rooms have delightful wall paintings, with precious stones and mirrors inlaid in the walls. Most fascinating, perhaps, is the Sheesh Mahal (hall of mirrors) where a single lamplight is reflected in the many mirrors, lighting up the room.
En-route to Amber Fort you will stop and see the 'Palace of Winds', otherwise known as Hawa Mahal. It is really an elaborate façade, extremely intricate in its pink sandstone carving. The cool wind blows through its facade of windows and latticed screens through which the queens of the court once viewed the streets of the city.

This afternoon, you will visit the City Palace, which is an overwhelming complex of exquisite palaces, gardens and courtyards, decorative art and carved doorways. The palace museum houses collections of rare manuscripts, armory, costumes, carpets and miniature paintings.
Day 5 – Jaipur To Agra
This morning after breakfast proceed to Agra, visiting Fatehpur Sikri en-route.

Fatehpur Sikri is the deserted red sandstone city, built by the Great Mughal Emperor Akbar as his capital and palace in the late 16th century. It was abandoned soon after it was built when the local wells went dry and it remains today in much the same condition that it was over 300 years ago. It is complete with palaces and mosques and used to be a town larger than London when it was originally constructed. Now it is an extraordinary place to wander around with its buildings in near perfect condition.

Upon arrival at Agra you will check-in at your hotel and a SITA representative will assist you to complete your check-in formalities.

Agra came into the limelight during the rule of the Afghan King Sikandar Lodhi - who had made it the capital of his empire. Later in 1526 A.D., the Mughal   Emperor Babar took upon himself the task for rendering Agra, a unique character and beauty of its own. The next few hundred years of Agra witnessed the rise of the pomp and pageantry of three great Mughal monarchs - Emperor Akbar, Jehangir and Shahjahan.  In modern times, the city of Agra is a thriving carpet industry where you can also find leather workers, sandstone and marble sculptors, some of whom claim to be direct descendants of the craftsmen who had helped build the Taj Mahal.

You will spend 2 nights in Agra at The Gateway Hotel on Bed and Breakfast in a Standard Room.

Travelling Distance approx. 232 km – Driving Time approx. 05 hours
Day 6 - Agra
Morning, proceed to visit the Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays). On the inner walls, jewel-like stones create beautiful designs in white marble. The Mughals perfected the art of embedding semi-precious stones into marble and the Taj is the finest example of this special process called pietra dura. It begins with a marble plate, varying in size. Then jewels are sliced paper thin and embedded in the marble with such precision that the joints are invisible to the naked eye.
Afternoon you will proceed to visit Agra Fort, where the ageing Emperor Shah Jahan, imprisoned by his son, watched from a distance the fulfilment of his life's dream - the building of the Taj Mahal - in memory of his beloved wife. You have an option to visit the Taj Mahal on your own at sunset.

Day 7 - Agra to Delhi & flight to Kathmandu

After breakfast you will drive to Delhi airport to connect flight to Kathmandu. You will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Welcome to Nepal! Following customs, immigration formalities & baggage collection, receive the assistance of our representative at the airport terminal, and be welcomed with Khada (Tibetan silk scarf) in front of the arrival hall. At the vehicle, wet tissue paper will be provided for your refreshment.

As soon you reach the hotel welcome drinks will be served. In the meantime our assistantant will help you to check in and brief you about the program. He will also collect the return flight tickets for reconfirmation.

You will spend 1 night in Kathmandu at Hotel Shambala on Bed and Breakfast in a Standard Room.

Travelling Distance approx. 205 km – Driving Time approx. 04 hours
Day 8 – Kathmandu - Pokhara
Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast, drive Kathmandu to Pokhara.

Pokhara is the third largest city in Nepal. It is the starting point for most of the treks in the Annapurna area. Pokhara is a remarkable place of natural beauty, situated at an altitude of 827m from the sea level and 200km west of Kathmandu valley. It is considered by many to be the most beautiful place. This enchanting city has several beautiful lakes and offers stunning panoramic views of Himalayan peaks.

The serenity of lakes and the magnificence of the Himalayas rising behind them create an ambience of peace and magic. Pokhara spans 8 km from north to south and 6 km from east to west but, unlike Kathmandu, it is quite loosely built up and still has much green space. The Seti Gandaki flowing through the city from north to south divides the city roughly in two halves.

The city offers a combination of nature and culture and is mostly known as the gateway to the trekking route "Round Annapurna". The major touristic attractions of Pokhara are its scenic views in and around town, Phewa Lake, Begnas Lake, Rupa Lake, World Peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa), Davi’s fall, Sarangkot, Gupteswore cave, Mahendra cave, International Mountaineering Museum etc.

On arrival at Pokhara, proceed to check in at your Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure

You will spend 2 nights in Pokhara at Atithi Resort on Bed and Breakfast in a Standard Room.

Travelling Distance approx. 210 km – Driving Time approx. 06 Hours

Day 9 – Pokhara

Early morning drive to Sarangkot (14 km) for sunrise view. Return to hotel for breakfast.

In the morning: Half day sightseeing at Pokhara city.

Devi's Fall: Devi's Fall (also known as Devin's and David's) is a lovely waterfall lying about 2-Km south-west of the Pokhara airport on the Siddhartha Highway. Legend has it that a trekker (Devin, David) was washed away by the Pardi Khola and mysteriously disappeared down into an underground passage beneath the fall.

Gupteswore Cave: This large limestone cave, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is another nature's wonder in Pokhara

Seti Gorge: Pokhara valley is a valley of geological wonder. Because of the three major caves and Seti River the inner part of the valley has many natural tunnels. They are still to be explored. Seti River has made awesome gorges in many sections. In some section the gorges goes more than 200 metres deep whereas the width is just about 20 metres. The best places to observe the wild feature of Seti River are K. I Sing Bridge, Mahendra Pool Bridge, Prithvi Chowk Bridge and Some other small crossing.

Afternoon Boating at Fewa Lake: The centre of attraction in Pokhara is the Phewa Lake - the second largest lake in the kingdom. It is the largest and most enchanting of the three lakes that add to the resplendence of Pokhara. Here, one can sail or row a hired boat across to the water or visit the island temple in the middle. The favourite home base for travellers is the eastern shore.

Day 10 – Pokhara - Kathmandu
Breakfast at hotel. Today you will drive back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, proceed to check in at your hotel. Rest of the day is free.

You will spend 1 night in Kathmandu at Hotel Shambala on Bed and Breakfast in a Standard Room.

Travelling Distance approx. 210 km – Driving Time approx. 06 Hours
Day 11 - Departure Kathmandu
Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, sightseeing of Kathmandu City/Swayambhunath.

Swyambhunath was built over 2,500 years ago. It is also known as monkey temple as there are holy monkeys living in part of the temple. The site is about 70 metres above on the west side hill of Kathmandu and 3 kilometres from the city centre. An excellent view of Kathmandu valley can be observed from this UNESCO World heritage cultural site. This Buddhist Stupa holds a special position both among Buddhists and Hindus. Swyambhunath is perhaps the best place to observe the religious harmony in Nepal.
Visit the Durbar Square of Kathmandu and be amazed by the architectural wonders spanning several centuries. This important historical attraction has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are more than a dozen buildings and statues of note in this small area. They include: Kasthamandap - the wooden building that is said to have given the city of Kathmandu its name, Taleju Temple - one of the oldest temples in the square, and Kumari Ghar - home of "the Kumari", or living goddess.

Later today a SITA representative will meet you and assist you to transfer from the hotel to the airport for your flight back home.  (Approximately 4 hours prior to flight departure time). The standard check out time at the hotel is 12pm.
