Doi Inthanon, at 8,514 feet above sea level is the highest peak in Thailand. It ́s located 105 kilometres from Chiang Mai and its National Park is one of the most fertile natural treasure troves in all of Chiang Mai province. The invigorating mountain air and the fresh, cool climate make it a rejuvenating break from the city. It is very popular among bird watchers where more than 383 species have been reported. On this tour we visit a Karen hill tribe village, Mae Kland and Wachiratharn Waterfalls, the twinChedis built by the Royal Thai Air Force to honour their Majesties King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit, and the summit, where you will find the shrine of Chao Inthawitchyanon, the former Prince of Chiang Mai. We will have a short experiencein the Park along "Michael ́s Trail" that is a beautiful and unforgettable experience. Lunch on this tour is served at a local restaurant.

This is a good tour to start off your stay in Chiang Mai by giving you an overview of our beautiful city with over 700 years of history. We takethe winding road up the side of the hill overlooking the city to visit the most significant temple in Chiang Mai, the 600 year-old Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, which lies 3,500 feet above sea level. Inside you will find the symbol of the city, the copper-plated Chedi that is topped by a five-tier gold parasol, which contains relics of the Lord Buddha. From the terrace on a clear day, you will have a fine panoramic view of the entire city. Once you get there, that final climb (funicular also available) up the 306 steps of the Naga staircase (a Thai mythological Dragon-headed serpent) will seem worth it! In the city we will see the Kings glorious flower garden temple at Wat Saun Dok with a large central Stupa and Wat Chedi Louang which consists of an impressive Chedi, originally built in 1411.

Inside the Royal Chapel there is the Emerald Buddha, which has been carved from a solid piece of jade. The palace is a true architectural masterpiece, consisting of several buildings from the outside and a magical inside, which was used as a royal residence from the 18th century to the mid-20th century. It is without any doubt a national reference and possibly the most visited royal monument of Thailand, which shouldn’t be missed. To round off the tour, we call in at a local lapidary factory and showroom where you will be able to get locally made jewelry, handicrafts and silk at competitive prices.

Many ancient ruins and art works can be seen in the city which was founded in 1350 by King U-Thong. 33 kings of 5 dynasties ruled the kingdom until it was destroyed by the Burmese in 1767. During this day trip you will visit the principal sights: Wat Sri Sanphet -this importantand outstanding monastery was used as a presidential palace in the reign of King Ramathibodi I. Wat Phananchoeng: This monastery existed before Ayutthaya was founded as the capital. The principal 19 metres high Buddha image is made of stucco and is the most revered by the inhabitants of Ayutthaya. Wat Yai Chaimongkhol: The chedi at this monastery is among the largest in Ayutthaya and was built by King Naresuan (1590-1605). There are many Buddha images and a beautiful garden behind this chedi. This tour also includes a visit to Bang-Pa-In, the former Royal Summer Residence, which represents a fine example of Thai architecture.

Pick up from your hotel. Start the program with an elephant experience into the tropical rain forest along the route of an old mining trail for approximately 10 minutes. Arrive at Nakkerd Hill to visit the stunning “Big Buddha”. Enjoy a marvelous view over Chalong and southern Phuket. Visit Wat Chalong, the most revered monastery of Phuket. Visit a traditional cashew nut factory. Visit the Oldest Chinese temple in Phuket town and learn about the Chinese influence on the island. Visit a 100-year old Chinesemansion (Sino-Portuguese style), where movies such as “Young Indiana Jones” and “Heaven and Earth” were filmed. Transfer back to your hotel.
