Your Safari Itinerary

Our members may choose to add on an optional Safari to their trip. Depending on the duration of your trip, you will enjoy one of the following Safari options.

3 Night Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro and get transferred to Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro airport you will be received by our someone from our team and then transferred to Arusha for for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
You'll depart from Arusha after breakfast for the approximately two hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Along the way you'll pass bustling Maasai villages and the vast, open plains that have become synonymous with images of Africa. The park consists of natural vegetation mainly of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals during Tanzania's dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa.  Driving through the parks you'll also have the opportunity to see lions, leopards, cape buffalo, and a huge variety of antelopes. If you're particularly lucky, you might even see endangered animals such as the Greater Kudu or the Fringe-Eared Oryx.

Day 3: Manyara National Park - Arusha
Early morning breakfast followed by games drives in Lake Manyara national park. Lake Manyara is known for its tree-climbing lions and has the most pachyderms per km sq. in Tanzania. As visitors enter the gate, they pass into the lush forest, home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. Buffaloes and hippos also lurch in the adjacent Hippo Pool. The vegetation eventually merges into a flat topped acacia woodland where, in the heat of the day, lions can be seen stretched on the branches of these trees - a habit prevalent to Manyara lions.
Towards late afternoon, you will drive back to Arusha for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Departure at Kilimanjaro Airport
After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule you will get transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport to connect your flight back home.

Your Optional Excursions

Our members can choose to add the following excursions at the next stage of the booking process for an additional fee - subject to availability.

Jozani Forest Tour & Dolphin Trip with lunch (excludes drinks)

Your Optional Excursions
In southern Zanzibar, the Jozani Forest is a fantastic reserve and the only National Park on the island. Currently waiting to become the second World Heritage Site of Zanzibar, the Jozani Chwaka Bay region is a hotspot for biodiversity. This forest is home to a number of endemic species - unique to only Zanzibar and one of the rarest monkeys in the world, the endangered Red Colobus Monkey is a joy and privilege to witness.

Your discovery will take you on a journey through the lush, tropical forest surrounded by mangroves and salt marshes and filled with diverse trees & fauna. Here, your guide will teach you about the medicinal properties of various plants and will introduce you to the animals, birds and reptiles that inhabit this enchanting rainforest.

As you look up through the luscious jungle, be on the lookout for the famous red colobus monkeys of Zanzibar who may be searching in the trees for their dinner. Accustomed to visitors, you will have no trouble watching them while they eat or play.

Walking through the mangroves will take you over the marsh, where, depending on the tide, you can see tropical fish between the roots of the mangrove and crabs wandering through the mud. Mangroves play an important role in the conservation of the environment and are an essential resource for villagers. Your guide will give you be able to inform you on the different species found in the marsh and their job in this environment.

Continue your day with a transfer to Kizimkazi, on the south coast of Zanzibar, where you’ll set out to sea to experience a half-day of dolphin watching at their favourite hangout along the shallow coast. Kizimkazi is home to many dolphins, beautiful coral reefs and tropical fish.

Upon arrival, you will be briefed by security and will then embark on your boat to go in search of these marvellous mammals.

On this trip, you will be able to get as close as 10-20 metres to the dolphins, watching them play and jump through the water. However, dolphins are not tame and can be shy, so dolphin-spotting isn’t 100% guaranteed. On the other hand, this trip does give you the chance to sail the gorgeous coastline upon which you can admire the glistening ocean – why not head in the waters for a snorkel to see the coral reef, and swim in the clear, warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

You will then head back to the beach for a relaxing break with the crew.
