Your Itinerary —
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
You will be met by your driver upon arrival and transferred to first lodge (approx. travel time: 45 minutes). The afternoon & evening will be free to do as you please.
Overnight in Ilboru Lodge with breakfast, lunch & dinner included.
This morning, depart for Tarangire National Park (approx. travel time: 3 hours). This park is a delightful, untamed gem of a park which covers 2,600 sq km: vast elephant herds and the numerous wide-bowed baobab trees create a lasting impression.
This area is best for oryx, kudu, wildebeest, zebra, elephant and eland but leopards and massive pythons are also found here. Upon arrival you will be treated to a picnic lunch before being taken on a game drive through this plains. You will arrive in your camp in the late afternoon, the evening can be spent enjoying the camp's excellent views.

Wake up early and embark on another game drive through Tarangire National Park, followed by breakfast in the heart of the park. In the late morning, exit the park for your hour long drive across the vast plains of the Rift Valley, keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle. Enjoy a late late lunch upon arrival, the afternoon is free to do as you please.

Depart from your lodge at 06.30 & drive to Lake Eyasi. After an hour, you will be met by your guide & the Hadzabés huntsmen for an informative walk through the bush (this tour will take 2 - 3 hours). Return to the cars where the driver has prepared a second breakfast. You will then continue 15 minutes to the Datogas Village where you can see these master-iron mongers at work.For an hour we can discover their habitat and their technique of blacksmith.
Depart at 12:30 for your hour long drive back to the lodge, where a lunch will be waiting. The afternoon is devoted to relaxing, a particular highlight is the lodge's panoramic pool or you can use this opportunity to take some mountain bikes & explore!

Today, the day will be dedicated to the discovery of the Ngorongoro crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As one of the wonders of the world, it is difficult to give a fair description to the enormity and beauty of the Crater. This crater is also an epicentre of game, including elephant, buffalo, hippo, wildebeest, gazelle, monkeys, black rhino, leopard and a huge concentration of lion and hyena.
From the lodge it takes about 15 minutes to reach the gate of Ngorongoro and another 45 minutes, up the slopes of the crater, to reach your destination. This track offers a epic views towards the crater heart.
Afterwards, there will be a picnic lunch before continuing your safari. You will enter the crater around 16.00 - 16.30 & continue to your camp. After settling into your tent you will be taken on an 1 hour 30 minute hike to the top of Kopjes to admire the sunset on the plains of Serengeti.

Embark on game drive into the heart of the great migration where you will try & see the awe-inspiring sight of thousands of Wildebeast & zebra. This will be followed by picnic in the park. In the afternoon, the safari resumes along the shores of lakes Ndutu and Masek then through the territory of big cats. Return to the Karatu region in the late afternoon & unwind at your lodge.

Day 7: Bashay - Arusha - Iboru
Depart for Arusha in the morning ~& stop for lunch at Shanga Restaurant. The afternoon will be free to discover the city or do a bit of shopping.

Day 8: Departure
The morning will be free to do as you please. Afterwards, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport in time for your flight home.

Ilboru Lodge
Ilboru Safari Lodge is situated at the base of Mount Meru, among the banana fields and Maasai tribes. The rooms have an unique African design with a round layout and thatched rooftops & are complimented by Maasai fabrics. Arusha is a haven for a variety of birds which can be views from the hotel's large swimming pool.
Maweninga Camp
The camp is located in the north-western area of Tarangire National Park and is built on top of a massive "kopje" (granite rocks) There are amazing views over Lake Burungi and, away to the north, Lake Manyara in the Rift Valley. On a clear day, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro is visible from the highest point.
Bashay Rift Lodge
This inviting lodge is a collection of charming cottages scattered along an impressive terrace which overlooks Oldeani Mountain & Lake Eyasi. A highlight of this lodge is the large swimming pool which is perfect for relaxing & enjoying some spectacular sunsets.
Olduvai Camp
The camp is built around the shady edges of a "kopje." These low hills rise up from the plains and with their massive granite boulders, trees and bushes are a dramatic feature of the savannah.
Please note: the bed for the 3rd guest sharing is likely to be a sofa bed or camp style bed.
