Your Itinerary —
Day 1: Travel to Colombo
Upon arrival at Colombo International Airport you will be met by your chauffer guide from Hayleys Tours & transferred to your hotel in Colombo.
Overnight accommodation at The Kingsbury, Colombo or similar.
Day 2: Colombo - Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast you will be transferred to Nuwara Eliya (approx. travel time: 4½ - 5½ hrs). Upon arrival check into your hotel & relax.
Nuwara Eliya is set in the heart of tea country is a beautiful town where the British succeeded in creating a replica of the English countryside, with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne. Well-kept lawns with hedges, an Anglican church, a famous golf course and beautiful parks give the place an air of nostalgia. Situated 6,200 feet above sea level, the air is cool and fresh – a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Pony and Horse riding is available at the turf club of Nuwara Eliya to facilitate you with some sports and adventure. Visit a tea plantation situated in the misty mountains of the Sri Lankan Hills, to experience the ultimate feel of a tea plantation and its process.

Day 3: Nuwara Eliya - Horton Plains - Nuwara Eliya
After an early breakfast at the hotel proceed to the Horton Plains (approx. travel time: 30-40mins).
Horton Plains, 6500ft above sea level lies Sri Lanka’s highest and most isolated plateau. Nature lovers will revel in this wide, patna-grass covered plain, the haunt of many wild, yet harmless, animals and the home of many species of birds. Bridle paths will take you to the precipice known as World’s End – a sheer drop of 1,050 meters. Waterfalls are seen and heard everywhere in this hill country. On completion return to your hotel & relax.

Day 4: Nuwara Eliya - Udawalawe - Yala
Breakfast at the hotel and then proceed to Udawalawe National Park for an evening Jeep Safari (approx. transfer time: 3½ - 4½ hrs).
Located approximately 200 km south-east of Colombo city and is a major eco tourism destination in Sri Lanka. The 30,821 hectares dry zone game park has an annual rainfall of 1524 mm and an average temperature of 29.4°C. It is most famous for the many elephants that live there (about 400 in total). During a visit, it is not unusual to see whole herds of adults and young elephants feeding or bathing and playing in the water! In addition to this main attraction, the park is home to many water buffalo, water monitor lizards, sambar deer, monkeys and the occasional leopard, as well as being an exciting location for bird enthusiasts.
On completion proceed to Yala & check into the hotel (approx. transfer time: 2-½ hrs).

Day 5: Yala
After breakfast proceed to the famous Yala National Park for an exciting jeep wild safari.
The elephant is undoubtedly the best-known attraction at Yala, seen in small & large herds. Herds of spotted deer are seen all over the park. Both the pinkish rhesus monkeys and the grey-faced Langur monkey, live and play on the treetops and the ground below. Wild buffalo & wild boar could give a good surprise & the sight of a leopard sunning itself or drinking water at a waterhole could be memorable experience. The peacock is easily the most famous of the birds at Yala. The painted stork, many varieties of heron, the spoonbill, the bee-eater, parakeets, and kingfisher & woodpecker are some of the birds can be seen in the park. On completion return to your hotel & relax.

Day 6: Yala - Bundala - Dickwella - Wadduwa
After an early breakfast at the hotel proceed on a jeep safari through Bundala National Park (approx. transfer time: 40-50mins).
Bundala National Park is an internationally important wintering ground in Sri Lanka for migratory water birds. Bundala harbors 197 species, the highlight being the Greater Flamingo, which migrate in large flocks. Bundala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1969 and redesignated to a national park on 4 January 1993. In 1991 Bundala became the first wetland to be declared as a Ramsar site in Sri Lanka. In 2005 the national park was designated as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO, the fourth biosphere reserve in Sri Lanka. The national park is situated 245 km southeast of Colombo.
En route to Wadduwa you will make a visit to Hummanya (approx. transfer time: 2-2½ hrs). The Hummanya is also known as “Blow Hole” in the region of Sri Lanka and it is considered as the second largest in the league of blow holes, but Sri Lanka’s one and only. In essence, it means a distance where the sound of “hoo” can easily be listened or heard by a person. It is a well-known attraction for the travelers and tourists visiting the area and is well known for its uniqueness and excitement aspect. It is located in the deeper southern region of the country and it certainly has its charming aspect that thrills many and attracts people from all across Sri Lanka.
On completion proceed to Wadduwa & check into your hotel (approx. transfer time: 2-3hrs). Here you spend the next few days in all-inclusive bliss at Taprobana Wadduwa, Wadduwa or similar.
Day 7-11 or 12: Wadduwa.
Take advantage of the all-inclusive facilities at the hotel and spend your days at leisure by the pool or on the soft, sandy beach.
Day 11 or 13: Travel back to the UK
Today after breakfast you will be transferred to the Colombo Airport to catch your flight home.
