Fly from Gatwick to Palma and transfer to the port to embark on the Thomson Dream
Day 2, Sunday: At Sea
Day 3, Monday: Ajaccio - Corsica 08:00 - 18:00
Rugged peaks, emerald countryside, twinkling blue waters – Corsica’s been plucked from the prettiest postcard. Rising up from one of the most beautiful gulfs in the world is Ajaccio, a town oozing charm. An impressive place in its own right, it’s also your gateway to the sensational scenery and sleepy little towns that this sun-soaked isle is famous for. One word of advice – take plenty of spare batteries for your camera.
Day 4, Tuesday: Livorno (for Florence and Pisa) - Italy 07:00 - 19:00
A living monument to the Renaissance, Florence might be famous for its art galleries, but the entire city is like one gigantic piece of artwork. Beautiful buildings, picturesque piazzas and stunning sculptures are everywhere you look. Pisa is another Tuscan treasure. Make a beeline for the Campo dei Miracoli, an exquisite square which harbours the city’s cathedral and, of course, the famous Leaning Tower. Cruise along the royal canals of Livorno. Have your cameras ready as you sail through
colourful 'New Venice', a labyrinth of canals, waterways and bridges.
Day 5, Wednesday: Cannes - France 08:00 - 18:00
This party port is all about the see-and-be-seen lifestyle. As such it comes with a marina packed with millionaires’ yachts, super-cars purring through the streets and a shopping scene that’s all about names. So it’s little wonder it’s such a hit with the jet-set. But that’s just the famous face of Cannes – the one that rolls out the red carpet for the annual Film Festival. There’s still a trace of authentic France to be found, too. Think 19th century mansions, waterfront cafés and cliff-fringed beaches. Drop in on the rich and famous in Monte Carlo. The town’s must-see sights include the Grand Casino and the Grand Prix racing circuit.
Day 6, Thursday: Toulon - France 08:00 - 17:00
Fusing French Riviera glam with the feel of a traditional old town, Toulon is your gorgeous gateway to the Côte d’Azur. Venture into Aix en Provence and find out about its dual identity. This place is known as the Town of Water thanks to its fountains and the Town of Art because of its many museums. Follow the sound of popping corks and clinking champagne flutes to über-stylish St-Tropez, a long-time glitterati favourite. Venture into the breathtaking Provence countryside and stumble upon sleepy French villages.
Day 7, Friday: Barcelona - Spain 08:00 - 18:00
Barcelona is up there with the most famous cities in the world, and for good reason. Sandwiched between the Mediterranean Sea and the Serra de Collserola hills, this Spanish titan promises cutting-edge architecture, trend-setting fashion and art that breaks the mould. It’s a place where boutique-lined boulevards and intimate espresso bars give way to authentic tapas joints and narrow cobbled streets.
Day 8, Saturday: Palma - Majorca
Think leafy boulevards that echo with the stilettos of stylish shoppers. Tiny tapas bars tucked down narrow side streets. Architectural gold hidden in the historic quarter. With its trademark cathedral dominating the skyline, cosmopolitan Palma never fails to impress.
