Explore the vintage glam of La Barceloneta, the bustling fisherman's village leading to the Olympic Village's beaches and enjoy Port Vell's acclaimed restaurants on the tree-lined esplanades.
The winding backstreets offer something new around each corner. The pedestrian streets in the Old Town, the numerous parks and the magnificent waterfront and its modern architectural design all hold their own secrets.
Often overlooked in place of its big brothers Madrid and Barcelona, Valencia is a thriving city with buckets of charisma. With dynamic museums, a buzzing restaurant scene, vibrant nightlife, great shops and beautiful beaches, Valencia is bursting with Mediterranean exuberance. Famed as the home of Spain’s rice dishes, here will sample paella at its most divine and many other delicious rice dishes besides. No better place to enjoy this exquisite cuisine than at a cute restaurant right on the beach. Begin your day with a leisurely stroll around the historic Carmen neighbourhood and stop off at the characterful cafes and bars. Visit the futuristic buildings of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias and stunning contemporary buildings strewn throughout the city. Or head to the Museo de Bellas Artes to see some of the finest Spanish artists paintings. As the evening approaches, head to in an informal tapas bar, and fill your table with tasty delights to try. Watch the locals put the world to rights and infect you with their vibrant energy.
Boasting 86 Blue Flag beaches, the Costa Dorada is a popular tourist spot, drawing crowds to its shimmering seas each Spring and Summer.Gloriously wild in parts, you can find picturesque towns dotted along the coastline overlooking the endless deep-blue waters beyond. With Unesco-listed Roman villas, modernist bell towers and ancient monasteries, the Costa Dorada offers an authentic slice of Spanish living and culture. Try out the superb locally produced wines, offering a flavour of the region's glorious sunshine, or sample some of the delicious tapas in any of the bustling little tavernas strewn along the beautiful beaches.
