Your Destination

Hotel Pushkin is the heart of Moscow’s historic district, a 15 minute walk from the Red Square and Kremlin, and less than two minutes from the famous Tverskaya Street – known as much for its glitzy shopping as for its medieval origins.

You’re perfectly located to discover all Moscow has to give: explore an enigmatic city with a rich history and vibrant culture.

Politics, science, history, architecture, and business all meet here in this Russian capital, bursting with life. In this fascinating city, the ancient and the modern exist side by side.
In addition to the famous sites of the Red Square, the Kremlin, and the imposing nine domes of St. Basil's Cathedral, Moscow boasts an emerging art and music scene, and plenty of galleries and cafes, full of Moscow's cultured crowd.

The dining scene is equally vivacious, with everything from elegant haute cuisine to family friendly establishments.

Christmas in Moscow

Your Destination
Moscow’s winters often conjure up images of fur-clad citizens, snow-peaked tips of St. Basil’s Cathedrals and incredible cold – but Christmastime infuses a sense of joyful Christmas magic with a side of caviar and splash of fine sbiten, a Russian take on egg nog, to this common perception.

The celebrations start in late November, when advent begins for the Russian Orthodox Church, and continue through to January 7th – when Christmas is most commonly celebrated in Russia, in keeping with the Julian calendar. This means there’s plenty of time for holiday spirit to build throughout the city, where there are plenty of festivities to keep you celebrating throughout your stay.

The Christmas market on the Red Square is unmissable. The crisp winter air is made warm with the scents of Russian delicacies: crepes with caviar, pickles, Russian gingerbread and mulled wine. The painted faces of the blushing babushka dolls line the stalls alongside other handicrafts, such as Orenburg shawls and Khohloma toys. There’s even an ice rink open in the square – why not skate with a loved one at night under the bright, decorated Christmas lights?

We also recommend a stop to Manezh Square, where the largest Christmas bauble in the world and a 17m high Christmas tree lure visitors each year.

Hotel Pushkin 4*

Hotel Pushkin was built in 1883 and was originally a mansion with a creative past. The second floor was a theatre, meaning playwrights, actors, artists and ballerinas pirouetted and pranced through the very same halls and lounges you'll enjoy during your stay.

Renovated in 2013, the hotel was completely updated to ensure modern amenities were in place for guests. The original facade still remains, ensuring the part that Hotel Pushkin's building played in Moscow's history is ever-remembered.

Metro and Arbat street (3 hour walking tour)
The Moscow Metro is generally acknowledged to be the most beautiful public underground transport system in the world. It is a real subterranean city with palaces decorated with marble, bronze, granite and gilt, as well as having modern stations.

The first line of Moscow metro, with 13 stations, was opened in 1935. Now, there are more than 150 stations and Moscow metro is the main means of municipal transport in the city. Old stations were built according to Stalin’s plan of communist propaganda. Planners pretended to prove the superiority of communism by fantastic amazing design and decorations of marble, bronze statues and mosaics. Some stations look like real underground palaces. During the tour you visit such stations as «Mayakovskaya», «Komsomolskaya», «Ploschad Revolutsii».

Arbat is pedestrian street in the center of Moscow. In the 19th century Arbat was a favorite neighbourhood for Moscow`s nobility and creative intelligentsia, it was believed to number one noble for every seven ordinary residents. Over the years the street has developed into one of the most popular places in Moscow, you may meet here dancers, street artists, smart clothes shops and souvenir shops and cafes.

The Arbat is a true symbol of old Moscow. Pushkin, Esenin, Okudzhava walked on its pavement. Its houses and streets are the Moscow history.
The Tretyakov Art Gallery (3 hours)
The State Tretyakov Gallery is the national treasury of Russian fine art and one of the greatest museums in the world. It was first opened as a private museum in 1874. The museum consists entirely of Russian art by Russian artists. Founded in 1856, today it is comprised of more than 130,000 icons, paintings, sculptures and graphics ranging from the 11th to the early 20th century and modern art.
Russian Folkshow Kostroma (3 hours including return transfer)
The Russian National Dance Show “Kostroma” cleverly and with great prowess unites lyrical sketches with elements of folklore and ancient Russian epic. It uncovers the Russian culture through the nature of its people, social status and national coloring. You can witness the temporal, urban, village, military culture of Russia. The accurately created images of mother, wife, daughter, son, husband and warrior reflect the heritage of the many generations and the unique spirit of the Russian nation. 50 dancers on stage, masterly technique, outstanding acting, 15 reincarnations, 10 tons of freight, 600 unique costumes, 300 items of props, 8 sets changes – this is the fabulous reality of “Kostroma” that captivates the audience of all ages and nationalities.

Moscow City Tour (4 hour walking tour with English speaking guide)

Discover the main sites of Moscow on the 4 hour city tour, where you can feel the history reverberating through the streets. Russian's walls have many stories to tell, of csars, spires and conspiracies.

This tour also comes with a visit to the Kremlin. The Kremlin is a potent symbol of two mighty imperial cultures - that of medieval Muscovy and that of the Soviet Union - the Kremlin is at once fascinating and foreboding, a mixture of lavish opulence and austere secrecy, and its eclectic mix of architecture reflects these paradoxes and seismic cultural shifts.

Today, the Kremlin remains as alluring and enigmatic as ever. Not only one of the largest and most interesting museums in the world, but also the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation, the Kremlin is the perfect to visit on your tour of Moscow.
