Your Destination —

From a pier at the hotel you can embark on a boat that will take you to the beautiful beaches on the island of Tavira.  It straddles both sides of the broad Rio Gilão, the old town made up of white mansions with hipped roofs and wrought-iron balconies.  Many visitors stay longer than planned – particularly after a visit to the superb island beach of the Ilha de Tavira, which lies within easy reach of the town by year-round ferry.  In the centre of Tavira, take time to stroll along the Ribeira Market area and be engulfed in the shops, bars and restaurants who's bustle will captivate you and taste the local specialities.  For some truly excellent seafood, try the tiny fishing village of Santa Luzia.

There are also several quieter spots in the area, such as the Barril beach which you will travel on a picturesque train and while you're there you must go on the boat trips to Ria Formosa.

Your Hotel —

The hotel Vila Galé Albacora is the result of the restoration of the former tuna fishing camp (Arraial Ferreira Neto) and is integrated in the Natural Park of Ria Formosa.  This hotel in Tavira, is a true eco-hotel that has received awards and recognition for its sustainable environmental practices and where the activities related to nature tourism is a major strength.

The old fishermen houses were converted into rooms with history and tradition and with beautiful views of the Ria Formosa and the hotel has preserved the chapel and the old school for the children of the fishing camp residents.

The hotel also has a museum dedicated to the art of tuna fishing that tells us about the stories of the people connected to this activity.

The hotel has a bar, a restaurant with typical cuisine and Algarve specialties that favours local products and a spa with indoor pool, sauna, Turkish bath and massage rooms.

Salinas' Restaurant is the hotel's main restaurant and it offers a buffet service for breakfast (from 07:00 to 20:30) and buffet or à la carte at lunch (12:30 to 14:30) and at dinner (19:00 to 22:00).

Grill Flor de Sal Restaurant is dedicated to those who love tapas and grilled food. It is open from June to September from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Quatro Águas Bar is the hotel's excellent bar and is the perfect meeting point before or after meals, where you can enjoy a relaxing drink in front of a wood-burning fireplace while enjoying the nightly live music.  It is open from 10:00 to 01:00 from October to May and from 17:00 to 01:00 from June to September.

When you visit the area's stunning beaches you can explore the mysteries of the Mediterranean with PADI-accredited Diving Courses.

Golfers can play on one of the four golf courses with 18 holes in the region: The Benamor Golf, Quinta de Cima, Quinta da Ria and Monte Rei Golf & Country Club.

Pamper yourself in The Spa Satsanga where you will be able to indulge in a relaxing massage in a private treatment room before you take a dip in the heated indoor pool.  Or perhaps you'd prefer to make use of the sauna or Turkish Bath that are both on offer in this well-equipped wellness centre.  If you wish to be more active then the gym is for you, followed by a cooling session in their Vichy Shower.

Your Journey —

Flights: The flights included are with either a scheduled or no-frills airline and are subject to live availability and prices can change. You can choose your preferred departure times during the booking process. Please select your flight options carefully as departure and arrival airports may differ.

Transfers: Private can be added at the next stage of booking process for an additional fee.  Your journey will take 36 minutes (43km).

Car Hire: can be added at the next stage of booking process for an additional fee (flight inclusive offers only)

Meet & Greet —

If you are driving to the airport in the UK, and book our package including flights, you may wish to add our Meet and Greet service. Take the hassle out of airport parking and have an official representative take your car on arrival, and it will be waiting for you on your return.

This can be added at the next stage of booking process where available.

Car Hire —

Please note you cannot be guaranteed a specific make of car within a certain group.

The minimum age for driving a hire car in Portugal is 21 and drivers must have held a full driving licence for a least 1 year. You must present a full valid driving licence on collection of the vehicle and in some cases a credit card deposit.

Your Contract —

If you book a package which includes flights, your contract will be with Voyage Privé. The air holiday package(s) shown are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is 10170.

If you book a package which does not include flights, then ATOL protection does not apply. Your contract will be with the provider of the accommodation and not Voyage Privé. Voyage Privé acts only as agent for the accommodation provider.

Travel Documents —

Flight Inclusive Offers

You will receive an email confirming your booking within the next 48 hours.

Please check all details on this confirmation are correct. If there are any discrepancies, please notify us as soon as possible.

The airline is ticketless and therefore, you will not receive any hard copy documents. You will however, receive an email from us detailing your flight information and reference number to enable you to manage your booking online via the airline website.

You will also receive an accommodation voucher for presentation at the hotel reception at point of check-in.

If you have booked transfers, Meet & Greet, car hire or airport lounges, you will receive a separate voucher for each of these services. Please note that transfer vouchers are sent directly from the transfer supplier.

Please do make sure that you either add Voyage Privé to your Safe Senders list or check your Junk mail regularly for your travel documents.

We will send all documents out as early as possible (subject to full payment being received) but you should receive all your documentation at least 10 days prior to departure.
