Discover the colourful valleys, sprawling vineyards, and striking views of the Douro Valley. This beautiful region of fertile hills and vineyards, classified as a World Heritage Site, produces flavourful Port wine – one of Portugal's greatest national treasures.

This region has been producing wine for nearly two thousand years and its terraced landscape is a sight to behold. In between the vineyards are scattered tiny villages, unchanged for centuries, riverside cities and winding, deserted roads.

Some highlights on your itinerary include:
Lamego - This pretty old town is famed for its beautiful architecture, most notably the hilltop Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies (Nossa Senhora dos Remédios) from which you can admire stunning views over the sprawling vineyards below. Don't leave without trying the local drink 'raposeira' - a fragrant sparkling wine.
Porto- An historic riverside city characterised by its narrow streets, picturesque buildings and colourful local markets. It is something of a pilgrimage for Port wine lovers too, and a visit to the ancient cellars is a must for any visitor! It's no wonder this entire city has been named a UNESCO world heritage site.
Salamanca -  Pop over to Spain for a culture filled afternoon of Flamenco, food and music in this stunning city. A UNESCO World Heritage site populated with some 35,000 students and an endless number of monumental palaces, cathedrals, churches and museums. It is also home to Europe’s 3rd oldest University, just behind Oxford and Bologna.

The Spirit of Chartwell, used by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during the Diamond Jubilee, offers guests an experience worthy of its royal heritage.

This elegant ship recreates the stylish allure of the Pullman railway carriages popular in the 1920s with shining mahogany woodwork, a relaxed piano lounge and various royal and maritime memorabilia.

With a maximum of 30 guests on board, you can be assured of personal and attentive service.

The sun deck is the perfect place to soak up the sunshine, sipping local wine as you cruise past the rolling hills of the Douro Valley.

Travel Documents —

You will receive an email confirming your booking within the next 48 hours.

Please check all details on this confirmation are correct. If there are any discrepancies, please notify us as soon as possible.

The airline is ticketless and therefore, you will not receive any hard copy documents. You will however, receive an email from us detailing your flight information and reference number to enable you to manage your booking online via the airline website.

You will also receive an accommodation voucher for presentation at the hotel reception at point of check-in.

If you have booked transfers, Meet & Greet, car hire or airport lounges, you will receive a separate voucher for each of these services. Please note that transfer vouchers are sent directly from the transfer supplier.

Please do make sure that you either add Voyage Privé to your Safe Senders list or check your Junk mail regularly for your travel documents.

We will send all documents out as early as possible (subject to full payment being received) but you should receive all your documentation at least 10 days prior to departure.
