6-Night Itinerary —

Day 1: Oslo
Enjoy free time to explore the city of Oslo.
Overnight at Thon Hotel Opera or similar.

Day 2: Arrival into Tromsø - Begin Your 4-Night Tour
Arrival at the airport. Transfer by taxi (included) from the Airport to your hotel in the city centre.

Tonight you set off by bus from Tromsø to chase the Northern Lights. Where you head depends on the latest Aurora and weather forecasts. The experienced guides will find the best photo stop with excellent conditions and a scenic backdrop. They are also professional photographers and will help you with your camera settings so you can take your own photos.

After two or more hours, you will drive to one of the exclusive AuroraCamps. The three camps each have two comfortable lavvus (Samitents) and toilet facilities. You will then divide into two smaller groups (with max. 20 guests per group), each with their own lavvu and English speaking guide. You will then leave the decision of which camp you go to as late as possible so you can see where the Northern Lights are dancing.

Hot drinks will be served and you will have the opportunity to grill your own supper on an open fire. Warm winter clothes and tripods are available. Of course, viewing this the Northern Lights isn't guaranteed since they are a natural phenomenon, but the guides promise to use all their experience to maximise your chances of a successful chase!

Day 3: Tromsø to Malangen
After breakfast, you will have the morning at leisure to explore the city.

Situated 69 degrees north, Tromsø is 320 km above the ArcticCircle. Visitors are amazed when they learn that this city offers international luxury hotels, lively cafes, world-class seafood restaurants, an active cultural life, a very lively nightlife and interesting museums and art galleries.

Tromsø is home to the world's northernmost University, a brewery, a cathedral, glass blowing studios, a botanical garden...all in a beautiful setting surrounded by spectacular mountains and crystal-clear water.

In winter, the area offers a great variety of activities, such as reindeer or husky rides, ice fishing and snowmobile safaris followed by a traditional Sami meal in a Lavvu (tent)… these experiences will remain etched in your mind forever! From Tromsø city centre, you are only a few hundred meters from the nearest cross-country ski slopes. The beautiful mountain regions nearby are the perfect settings where to go skiing through the sparkling snow.

At 18:20 hop on to the shuttle from in front of Scandic Ishavs hotel heading towards Malangen Resort. Check in to your cabin and enjoy your evening at leisure. Hopefully tonight you will have a front seat view for some Northern Lights.

Day 4: Malangen
After breakfast, you will head out on a 3-hour dog sledding ride through the White Silence.

Located near Camp Nikka, there are an intimate group of eager huskies just waiting to take you into the wilderness. Start the adventure with a lesson on how to manage your own husky team. You will drive in pairs with a chance to change drivers at the halfway point. Finish the excursion by enjoying a delicious hot meal around an open fire. The camp has been built small enough so there is no room for mass tourism and stress of any kind. You can concentrate on enjoying one of the best experiences the far north has to offer!

Day 5: Malangen
On your last day in Tromsø and Malangen, you will have a free day to explore.

Spend it relaxed taking in the beautiful scenery that surrounds you, or join another activity such as a snowmobile or snowshoe walk. You can choose to prebook this or wait until you are at the destination and see what you will be in the mood for. On this last night, hopefully, the Aurora Borealis will come out for one last show so you can come home with a full camera and an experience of a lifetime!

Day 6: Malangen - Oslo
After breakfast, hop on the 9 am shuttle from Malangen Resort to Tromsø Airport.

Day 7: Oslo - Departure
From Oslo, depart home to the UK.

Day 6: Malangen - Tromsø

Our members will stay in a Second Row Standard Cabin on a Bed and Breakfast board basis. 

Malangen Resort provides an exceptional setting within the northern Norwegian nature. Surrounded by fjords and mountains at the water's edge, your accommodation not only provides idyllic cabins, for you to spend your nights but also, fantastic facilities including a glass-fronted sauna, open-air hot tub and authentic cuisine served in the restaurant.

Spend your days exploring on a variety of excursions, then return to your home-away-from-home, and relax overlooking spectacular views!
Your Second Row Standard Cabin (85 m²) at the Malangen Resort boasts modern decor meets traditional structure. Based on the waterfront, look over tranquil scenes and listen to the gentle sound of the waves, lapping just metres from your bed.
