Your Destination —
Beyond the souqs, the medina is an ideal place to explore private palaces and riad mansions, many of which now provide the city’s most atmospheric accommodation. But it’s worth leaving the old city occasionally for dinner, drinks and art galleries in the ville nouvelle (new town), mountain bike rides in the palmeraie (palm oasis) or horse-riding.
The obvious place to start is the Jemaa El Fna Square with its lively and exotic atmosphere packed with stalls, street cafes and even snake charmers! At night the square is lit and the smell of spices wafting through the streets is an experience not to be missed.
A day trip to the nearby Atlas Mountains gives you the ability to leave the full-on nature of the city and escape into the blissful scenery of the picturesque mountains.
Your Hotel —
This beautifully restored 18th Century Riad in the Medina is just a short walk from the vibrant marketplace of Jemaa el-Fnaa and Majorelle Garden.
Overlooking 2 internal patios, the 6 stylish rooms are individually decorated with carved wooden furnishings and colorful accents. All have Wi-Fi access and safes, some have fireplaces and/or balconies.
Continental breakfast with hot Moroccan additions is served in an elegant dining room, or on a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains. The riad also boasts a serene swimming pool - allowing guests to cool down after a day of sight seeing.
