Essaouira is a small town – it is still a relatively new tourist destination so instead of bars, parties and sunbathing, there is predominantly art, culture and sports. The medina - like in other, bigger cities across Morocco - has a colourful and pulsing souk where you can wander the cobbled streets and winding alleyways of the old city. Follow the wafting aromas of spice and fragrances and discover beautiful family-run cafes, restaurants, galleries and handicraft shops, for which Essaouira is famous.
Head to the famous fishing harbour to try delicious and freshly caught sea food. - Amongst the flurry of beautiful blue fishing boats you will see all of the local fishermen catch, gut and cook the fish in front of your very eyes!
