On the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro river, facing the Buffalo Springs, lies the Samburu National Reserve, characterised by its gentle rolling lowland plains. It is home to the 'Special Five' - the Reticulated giraffe, Grevys Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx and the Gerenuk.
A variety of reptiles and aquatic species can also be found lying in the Ewaso Ng'iro river. Around the area, find cultural villages which sell their crafts, food and dances, giving you a fascinating insight to their traditional way of life.

Ashnil Mara Camp —
This offer is based on a Luxury Tent on a full board basis.
Luxury Tents include luxury ensuite bathrooms, walk-in closets and a sun deck for relaxation while watching game.
The restaurant serves set buffets featuring international, oriental and traditional African cuisine, while the open-air bar serves a wide selection of beers, cocktails and liquors.
The lounge features décor with an African touch that makes it a wonderful place to pass the time and relax. There will be a variety of drinks served, including liqueur, soft drinks, cocktails, wines, and spirits, local and international beers.
After your game drive you can take a dip in the swimming pool. This is the perfect place to wile away a calm afternoon.
Ashnil Samburu Camp —
This offer is based on a Luxury Tent on a full board basis. Only those choosing offer 2 will stay here.
There are a total number of 30 luxury tents, each provide a perfect view of the Ewaso Nyiro River and beautiful surrounding landscape. They consist of a dressing area, sitting area, luggage rack and en-suite facilities to provide a memorable stay close to nature.
The open sitting restaurant overlooks the Ewaso Nyiro River, and serves set buffets featuring international, oriental and traditional African cuisine.
The lounge features décor with an African touch that makes it a wonderful place to pass the time and relax. There will be a variety of drinks served, including liqueur, soft drinks, cocktails, wines, and spirits, local and international beers.
The souvenir shop stocks curios, African clothing, jewellery and accessories as well as other basic items like toiletries.
After an amazing game drive you can take a dip in the swimming pool, which has a wonderful viewing deck of the Ewaso Nyiro River.
Southern Palms Hotel —
This offer is based on a Standard Room on a half board basis (breakfast and dinner).
Private balconies are featured in all rooms overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean. Other amenities include: TV, coffee and tea making facilities, mini bar, and safe.
Chooose from six different restaurants, all serving a variety of international cuisine. The main restaurant offers a themed buffet which changes every night. Enjoy delicious seafood such as crab, prawns and lobster, making the most of your oceanfront location. There are also six bars, letting you enjoy cocktails by candlelight or right on the beach.
Chill out by the pool, burn up a sweat on the tennis and squash courts, or head out and explore the marine life with deep sea fishing, snorkelling and scuba diving available. Other activities include: windsurfing, nature walking, volley ball and bird watching.
