Your Destination —
You will be based in Reykjavik, the world's most Northern capital, and a vibrant melting pot of culture, cuisine and exciting nightlife. The old harbour is the heart and soul of Reykjavík. With a backdrop of majestic Mount Esja and the beautiful Faxafloi Bay, you’ll find world-class restaurants, cutting-edge galleries, funky cafés, and quirky shops. With it all, you’re still at the heart of a working harbour, where you can watch ships come in with their daily catches.
For stunning views of the city climb up Hallgrímskirkja Church tower or visit the pearl - an otherworldly creation with a viewing platform and a revolving restaurant on top of hot water storage tanks.
Your Itinerary —
Upon arrival in Iceland you will be transferred by bus to your hotel & the rest of the day will be free. Take a stroll in the centre of this small and picturesque town, which is also the northernmost capital of the world. At your hotel you are able to ask for a wake up call to see the Northern Lights (weather permitting).
Today you can experience something unforgettable - The Secret Lagoon! A spa lagoon where you can bathe; over the centuries it has often been frequented by locals from throughout the region. Continue to the impressive Gullfoss Falls. Afterwards, visit one of Iceland's main attractions: Strokkur geysers.
Finally, before returning to Reykjavik, visit Thingvellir National Park, a truly fascinating place from the historical and geological point of view.
Today there is the option to go to the South Coast and admire the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, one of the most romantic of Iceland, with its trail leading up to the water jet (a path accessible only with extreme weather conditions) from which you can take some breathtaking photos.
Continue to Skogafoss, another spectacular waterfall and finally towards Reynisfjara with its black sandy beach. The colour contrast is particularly impressive in winter. Return to Reykjavik.
