As the northernmost capital in the world Reykjavik enjoys a unique atmosphere few other cities can match. A short break to Reykjavik, Iceland's capital is many people's first experience of Iceland. Here you’ll find all the cultural trappings of a large 21st-century European city here, cosy cafés, fine museums and galleries, and state-of-the-art geothermal pools.... But it is also a city surrounded by some fantastic and ancient natural wonders.

The hotel is only a short bus ride away from Reykjavik's major attractions like the National Museum and University of Iceland. The Nordic house is just around the corner and the city center with its perpetual motion, museums, restaurants and shops, is only minutes away.

Your Itinerary —

You may choose from either a three or four night stay

Day 1: Arrival 

Once you have landed at Keflavik Airport in Iceland, please pick up your luggage. Take the FlyBus Plus airport shuttle transfer to the 22 Hill Hotel. Remember to let the FlyBus representative on the bus know what hotel you are using for drop-off. Please note that hotel check-in cannot be guaranteed before 14:00 (2:00pm) 

The rest of the day is free for your own activities.  We suggest a walk in the Old Town area with galleries, museums, restaurants and pubs.  The hotel is located close to Hlemmur, an area of Reykjavík that is becoming a popular restaurant and coffeehouse culture with local musical entertainment.  It is also very close to the main shopping street of Laugavegur. A visit to one of the city's geothermal swimming pools is a great way to shake off jetlag and a typically Icelandic activity. The 22 Hill hotel is within walking distance of the historical Sundhöll Reykjavík, the oldest geothermal swimming pool in Reykjavík.  The pool has modernized yet maintained its old fashioned charm and decor.  Another popular place to visit is the Old Harbour, which has recently developed into a charming and vibrant artistic and craft area. Museums, craft shops and cosy restaurants make this an ideal place to spend an afternoon or evening. The 22 Hill hotel is located close to a popular local favourite restaurant, Potturinn and Pannan, where people can enjoy traditional home-style Icelandic cooking at a reasonable price.
Day 2: Lava Cave, Waterfalls and Hot Spring Pool Tour of West Iceland

Enjoy the delicious breakfast at your hotel.  Please be waiting in the front of the hotel at 8:00am for the pick-up on today's day tour.  You will be visiting the beautiful Borgarfjörður area of West Iceland.  This is a popular getaway area for Icelanders, and it has a little of everything that makes Iceland special:  waterfalls, hot springs, glacier views, and Viking history.  It even has some of the best lava caves in the country!  
   
After driving through an interesting and innovative undersea tunnel, you‘ll emerge into West Iceland.Visit Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in Europe.  These rapidly rushing hot springs are used to provide heat and hot water for the local area.  It is amazing to see their power.  
Next go back in time on a visit to the amazing cave tour of the 1100 year-old Víðgelmir cave.  Created from lava, this is magical underworld of brilliant colours and formations. A recent walkway and underground lighting has made this powerful cave accessible to travellers.  Enjoy a walk through the cave in comfort and ease; your guide is a cave expert who will tell you how Viðgelmir was created and the Viking-age artefacts found here.

After the cave visit, visit the nature resort area of Húsafell, where you can relax in the hot-spring fed swimming pool and hot tubs. Return to Reykjavík in the evening.
Day 3: Open day

Breakfast at your hotel. Today is open for your own activities. Perhaps you will use the day to visit the popular Golden Circle area or the Blue Lagoon. Try some outdoor activities like glacier river rafting, or an off-road buggy ride.

Day 4 (or 5 if extra night added):

Departure Breakfast at your hotel. FlyBus airport transfer to Keflavik airport for your flight home. Please be prepared to depart your hotel about 3 hours before your flight.

Travel Documents —

Once the booking process is complete, you will receive an automatic confirmation email from Voyage Prive detailing your chosen travel arrangements.

Your official ATOL receipt and booking confirmation issued by the Tour Operator will follow within 5 days.

We will send all documents out as early as possible (subject to full payment being received) but you should receive all your documentation at least 10 days prior to departure. Generally, travel documents are sent via email however, in some cases they will be sent by post.

If you have booked Meet & Greet, you will receive a separate voucher for this via email.
