Brimming with history and inherent natural beauty, this historic city on the River Elbe is awash with baroque churches, grand palaces and stately architecture. Numerous artists, most notably the Italian Canaletto, have set up their easels to capture this breathtaking panorama.
The Steigenberger Hotel de Saxe, opposite the famous Frauenkirche is in the ideal location to discover and enjoy the attractions of the old baroque city centre of Dresden. Many of the popular tours of the city begin at the Frauenkirche and take the visitor to the numerous nearby buildings of interest such as the Dresden Semperoper, the Zwinger, Dresden Castle, the Church of the Holy Cross and the Hofkirche, the Catholic Church of the Royal Court of Saxony, as well as numerous other highlights.
And after all that sightseeing, we recommend an early evening boat trip on the Elbe, stopping at some of the many riverside bars along the way.
