Your Destination —
La Croisette
The internationally famous La Croisette is the link between the beach and the town. It’s an attractive centre and an excellent place for a walk for the local people and for tourists. Over 3km long, it offers a varied walk where you’ll find the major hotels, casinos, luxury shops, beaches and Port Canto on the way to Palm Beach Head.
Le Suquet
This is the heart of Cannes. The historic Suquet area has retained the charm of a Provençal village. The streets are narrow and the buildings with their coloured shutters are closely joined together. Tour the ramparts, visit the Castre Museum, the square tower and the church and admire the view of the town, port, la Croisette and the Lérins islands. Below Le Suquet you’ll find the Old Port of Cannes.
La Californie
High in the hills, this residential district of La Californie is not short of beautiful villas. It’s a billionaires’ hill, with each house bigger, more luxurious and better hidden than the others. Once you’re up there you can look down on the whole bay of Cannes from the observation point.
Lérins islands (Saint Marguerite and Saint Honorat)
These islands are in the bay of Cannes and less than 20 minutes away by boat. They provide a natural, unspoilt haven of peace. The larger of the two, Sainte Marguerite, has a 170 hectare wooded park and some of the finest beaches on the French Riviera.
The island is also famous for its Vauban Fort, which was a royal prison, where the Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned. Saint Honorat is owned by monks and has a monastery dating back to feudal times.
