The Ghent River Hotel is based in a 16th century Renaissance house and a building dating from the 19th century that was originally a sugar refinery. The Ghent River Hotel has the landing stage on the river Leie to thank for its name, making this the only hotel in Ghent that can be reached by boat. Together with the Gravensteen Hotel and Hotel de Flandre, the Ghent River Hotel is one of the Historic Hotels of Ghent.

Only 650 yards from the Botermarkt, it boasts a sauna, fitness room, cosy lounge and inside terrace.

The Christmas Market —

Combine Ghent's delightful shops and boutiques with the 53 atmospheric stalls selling pancakes, Gin, Gluhwein, candles,jewellery and gifts. The market is staged in Saint-Bavo Square in Ghent's historic centre located between the Sint-Baafs Cathedral and the Belfry Tower.

A visit inside the Cathedral of Sint-Baafs will reveal the famous altarpiece painting - the "Adoration of the Mystic Lamb". And a climb up the tall Belfry tower will reveal great views of Ghent. Nearby to the market is the impressive 13th-century Church of St Nicholas and Gravensteen Castle.

Your Journey —

Train: Standard Class Eurostar is included as well as your onward train to Ghent.

Eurostar leaves from London St Pancras International and takes approximately 2hrs 10 minutes to Brussels. Onward trains to Ghent are every 30 minutes and take approximately 45 mins. Make your way upstairs from the Eurostar arrivals to the main concourse and follow signs for trains to Brugge - Oostende - Knokke - Blankenberge departures.  Here you can check the departure boards for the next train stopping at Ghent.

Your Eurostar outbound and return travel times will be allocated based on the offered price and valid for designated trains and within the time parameters detailed in this offer and we will not contact you to discuss the train times unless absolutely necessary.

Meet & Greet —

If you are driving to the airport in the UK, and book our package including flights, you may wish to add our Meet and Greet service. Take the hassle out of airport parking and have an official representative take your car on arrival, and it will be waiting for you on your return.

This can be added at the next stage of booking process where available.

Your Contract —

Voyage Privé is acting as agent for Shortbreaks LTD with the ABTA W5344 and your contract is with that company.

Travel Documents —

You will receive an email confirming your booking within the next 48 hours.

Please check all details on this confirmation are correct. If there are any discrepancies, please notify us as soon as possible.

The airline is ticketless and therefore, you will not receive any hard copy documents. You will however, receive an email from us detailing your flight information and reference number to enable you to manage your booking online via the airline website.

You will also receive an accommodation voucher for presentation at the hotel reception at point of check-in.

If you have booked transfers, Meet & Greet, car hire or airport lounges, you will receive a separate voucher for each of these services. Please note that transfer vouchers are sent directly from the transfer supplier.

Please do make sure that you either add Voyage Privé to your Safe Senders list or check your Junk mail regularly for your travel documents.

We will send all documents out as early as possible (subject to full payment being received) but you should receive all your documentation at least 10 days prior to departure.
