Your Destination —
Being the northernmost capital in the world, Reykjavik might welcome you with the stunning Northern Lights, when you visit in the winter. Reykjavik is always charming, and combines cutting-edge urban lifestyle with the dynamic natural wonders that embrace the city.
The old harbour is the heart and soul of Reykjavík. With a backdrop of majestic Mount Esja and the beautiful Faxafloi Bay, you’ll find world-class restaurants, cutting edge galleries, funky cafés, and quirky shops. With it all, you’re still at the heart of a working harbour, where you can watch ships come in with their daily catches.
For stunning views of the city climb up Hallgrímskirkja Church tower or visit the pearl - an otherworldly creation with a viewing platform and a revolving restaurant on top of hot water storage tanks.
Your Itinerary —
Your may choose from a 3 night or 4 night itinerary.
Below is the 3 night itinerary. The 4 night itinerary is identical, with an extra day at leisure

The rest of the day is free to explore the local area. Why not delve into the Old Town Area with its galleries, museums, restaurants & pubs? A trip to one of the city's geothermal swimming pools is an excellent way to shake off any jet-lag in a very Icelandic way!
Hótel Ísland is within easy walking distance of Laugardalur, the largest swimming pool in the city, and a favorite with visitors. Another popular place to visit is the Old Harbour, which has recently developed into a charming and vibrant artistic and craft area. Museums, craft shops and cosy restaurants make this an ideal place to spend an afternoon or evening.

Today you will get to enjoy two very Icelandic activities: horseback riding and relaxing in hot spring-fed waters. Today‘s riding tour is ideal for both beginners and people with riding experience.
After breakfast, please wait in the hotel lobby at 9am for your tour pick up. You will be transferred to the Íshestar Riding Center near Heiðmork Nature reserve on the out skirts of Reykjavík. Here you will be given all the equipment you need for riding: boots, helmet and a cold weather coverall or raincoat.
After a short lesson on the easy Icelandic riding style, enjoy a guided riding tour on beautiful paths with interesting lava formations and mini forests. Your guides will point out facts along the way, so you´ll learn about Icelandic nature and culture on this 1 1/2 hr ride, its cold so please bring warm winter gloves!
You will be taken through winter countryside to the geothermal town of Laugarvatn. This pretty town near a hot-spring fed lake is a popular vacation area for Icelanders. The natural steambaths in the town have been a local favorite since the 1920s, but today the Fontana Geothermal Steambaths have been upgraded to a spa experience that is popular both with local families and visitors where you can relax in the facility's sauna & geothermal pools. Enjoy a relaxing time getting a steam bath in cabins set directly over an active steam fissure. Afterwards, enjoy a nice buffet dinner featuring area specialties with an emphasis on fresh and healthy cooking. Don´t forget to try the sweet rye bread from the spa‘s own geothermal bakery.
If the weather conditions cooperate, tonight enjoy a hunt for the elusive northern lights as you head back to Reykjavik. If the lights decide to make an appearance, the tour bus will stop along the way so you can enjoy the view.
